Are you vegan or vegetarian?

I am vegan because I don't eat any foods with meat or eggs or milk. Is there any other things I shouldn't be eating as a vegan? And I love the hell out of some humus. That stuff just rocks.

I'm strict vegetarian, no meat, eggs or dairy for the most part. Every once in a while I might eat a cookie or something that a co-worker brought in that isn't vegan... just can't help myself hahahBut just watch for ingredients, even vegetarian burgers and stuff contain eggs and milk

Im a veggie.Well vegans don't take any dairy products at all , so like cheese , ice cream , cream etc...they don't wear leather or any other thing off an animal and then what you have above...just be careful on the dairy products...

cheese or any other dairy product. Some vegans avoid honey because it is produced by bees. And gelatine should be avoided too unless it is plant based.

There are a few things to watch for as a vegan.Honey Unspecified natural flavorsGlutamatesSugar (refined white sugar)Beers, wines and liquors refined with icinglassGlycerin of an unknown source (should specify vegetable glycerin)Casein (milk protein - hides in everything from candy to condoms)There is a much longer list, however a very easy rule of thumb is that if you don't know what it is - don't eat it.

I'm vegan, and here are a few things you want to avoid:gelatin (heck, vegetarians should avoid it, too)carmine (a.k.a. cochineal)honeypropolis (usually in "natural" cosmetics)anything listed as a food glaze, confectioners glaze, resinous glaze Ask the company first, as it's often made from insect secretionsMany wines and beers are clarified with gelatin, isinglas (fish gelatin), and egg whites. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, there's an app that lets you know what brands are veg-friendly. It's called "Vegan is Easy".a number of soy cheeses and "non-dairy" products have casein, a milk protein. Some people avoid foods with sugar because some sugars are filtered through bone char. If it says cane juice crystals or evaporated cane juice, ti's okay. Me, I worry about the biggies as listed above and try not to be obsessive. And you do know to read labels obsessively right? That "vegetable" soup could be made with animal stock. Most french onion soups are made with beef stock (pout).

according to some people honey...but if u are educated, if bees dont polinate flowers and produce honey then the earths plant population will deteriorate drastically, causing the symbiosis to mess up and soon animals will die out and blah blah blah...

Check out this list.http://www.veganwolf.com/animal_ingredie…I'd say some of the sneakiest non-vegan things for some people are gelatine, red food dye and lanolin( body care products).

I have been vegetarian for about 8 years and working on going vegan for a few months. I've switched to soy milk, cut out most dairy, etc. It's the processed foods that have milk or egg ingredients that tend to still get me! Hummus does rock. I love it.
