good question! Way to narrow everything down... I would probably say go to the bowling alley with a bunch of friends, and then go to a water park hotel like the M.O.A after. Or just hit the mall and then go to water park after. Idk it depends on what your style is. You could go to the movie theatre and see a scary movie!! Maybe just go out to eat in the city too. That;s always fun. Get tickets to go see a concert?

Ok what if you do a movie themed party. Listen to this, go to any party store and buy those cute little popcorn things whatever and like the movie clippings and stuff whatever says movie. Ok so pick your favorite time range like do you like the 60's or 70's etc and watch movies the whole night only on that time range and have everyone dress up like that time frame. Hope you like it feel free to tweak it up.

Go to the local mall and have your nails or hair done. Shop for gifts or buy something that you and your friends would like. Then have a meal at one of the restaurants at the mall or ice cream shop.

How about taking a few of your friends to the local 10 pin bowling alley.or pick a theme and arrange the party around it like, everybody must dress as either their favourite film character, or have a Little Britain theme and dress as one of the characters, or Super Heroes, James Bond theme, Or just invite your friends round for a sleepover, with a good film and either loads of nibbles and popcorn and a few games on the Wii always ends up being good fun.
by Eskii 2012-03-05 10:38:32
your dress sounds extremely pretty, however, 50's theme.. well.. no..it's not such a good idea.what you should do is a hawaiian theme.. i know that your dress has nothing to do with that theme:S but you'll be the centre of attention for the whole night:).. and look at the bright said.. the pattern of your dress will still be ligit to the theme.:)

you could do a famous/ red carpet party.Depending on how many girls are gonna be there, maybe you could rent a hot tub. that's always pretty fun. no matter what the weather does. For the invitations you could type "VIP" on the cover.on the inside, tell about times activities etc. if you guys want to go anywhere. ask your parents if you could pre rent a limo. that would be fun

Who doesn't love food? Maybe go out to Applebee's or Chili's. If you and your friends like to cook have a pasta party. Or go see a movie. Hibachi places (oriental places where they cook the food in front of you) are great but you'll probably pay about $12 a person there, but they are so fun. Ice skating is good for laughs especially if your friends are as graceful as mine. Good luck and happy birthday.

The 17th birthday for either a boy or a girl is a very special day because it represents the last birthday before he or she is legally an adult. While some think that a 17-year old would not still be fond of fun and games, on the contrary, there are still many great themes that will appease your teenager. The Formal PartySince adulthood is veering around the corner, many kids this age will appreciate a birthday party that beckons upon this premise. Formal birthday parties are actually rather easily thrown. Create formal invitations that require an RSVP. A hired catering company that will provide a menu is also advised--this way you can even ask guests on the invitations what their menu choices will be. Most local hotels will offer smaller ballrooms that you can rent for a decent bargain. You can even set up tables with fancy drinks like sparkling cider and juices, which mimic a real cocktail bar. A hired band that performs songs all night or a DJ for dancing and some fancy decorations will net you a formal birthday party that your teenager won't soon forget. Rock and Roll Birthday PartyPerhaps one of the more popular of birthday party ideas for teenagers is rock and roll birthdays. Your best bet is to find out if they have any friends who are in local bands that they really like. You can easily hire these local bands for pretty cheap and get them to play at your home in your backyard. Make sure that you acquire a live music permit from your local authorities so that your party does not get shut down. Flashy rock themes include the birthday cake--you can even decorate a print-on cake with their favorite rock band on the frosting; all you need is a picture. Include free music download cards in your party teasers and create invitations that look like real concert tickets that you tear at the door as guests enter. Video Game Themed Birthday PartyMost teenagers love video games--even girls these days are playing more and more video games. One of the more popular varieties of these video games are games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Set up a video game console in the living room and hold showdowns to see can rock out harder. Cool invitations can resemble game controllers and attendees can be encouraged to purchase video game-related gifts for the birthday kid. Offer a prize for the winner of a video game showdown.

Hey Miley #1 Fan :)Hey, I just had my 17th in June (winter here in Australia). This is what we got up to:I had a sleepover at my place (a sleepover minus the sleep haha!), everyone brought along a plate of food to share and their favourite CDs and DVDs. As stereotypical as it all sounds, we all actually had a lot of fun. And, great photos :DWe also all created hypothetical scenarios on some cards. Then we put them all together, mixed them around a bit, and then pulled one out, read it out and all discussed it.eg: 'Be married but live in the 60’s or be single and live in the 1900’s?'*going around the circle*person one: definitely in the 60’s I can relate more...person two: no no! I’ve always wanted to secretly travel back in time, going to the 1900’s would be amazing! You would not believe that amount of discussion that was created! We learnt so much about each other through the most bizarre questions.A sleepover might be impractical for you given your situation, but you can still do this card thing around a table with everyone.ORPerhaps a picnic? This is relatively inexpensive, bring along a picnic basket, some home made cupcakes etc and you can all gossip and have fun at a park.Or, clear out your garage, get out your stereo , ask your friends to bring along their favourite CD's. Like the picnic, your only paying for food= cheap.House parties are the best parties, perhaps make it themed, if your girly, make the theme 'you all have to wear pink' or something like that. We had a donut eating competition, dance off (two teams- it sounds lame but everyone was uncontrollably laughing at some of the moves we all came up with) and balloon voleyball. For my friends last party, the theme was "dress as something that shares the first letter of your name".For example, my names lily and I went as a lion haha.Hope it all works out for you!
by Ricky 2012-03-03 13:38:27
I don't suggest going to your own house because it won't fit as many people. Go to a park or somewhere big outside where you can set up a huge party, so all you really need is food and entertainment that costs money. It will be bomb diggity! =]Hope this helps!

For a tea party:-Have a costume contest. If it's all girls, have a best tea party dress or bonnet contest. Vote on most colorful, most creative, etc. If you want to be more old-fashioned, try going after some Victorian wear.-For games you could do something similar to a fishbowl toss at a carnival. Throw colored ping pong balls into teacups for prizes.-Another game could be egg dying...? You could see who could make the weirdest egg, and it'd be interesting. I don't think many people do that at parties.-Paint tee shirts or bags. Pick up some plain tees at Michael's or another craft store, and go!

why dont you go for a night out - like go to a movie or ice skating - if your parents drive they can bring you & pick you up! if they do not wish to do this, then you could have a themed party - a hollywood one, decorate your garage or house (ask mom & dad - duh) & invite all the cool kids & your friends - dressup in glitzy clothes & act like your favourite character. If your parents dont mind spending the money - bring you & your best mates to disneyworld, sixflags, etc... & on your actual birthday - go to a real soppy movie with your mum or a horror with your bf! just have fun!

So the Mad Hatter's Tea Party? Sounds like fun! I would serve all the drinks from tea pots. Everyone can wear a silly hat and you can have cake and other 'tea party' type foods like cucumber sandwiches, etc. Maybe even have lollies or mini cakes of some kind that look like sugar cubes (for putting in the tea). It would be awesome if you could find a nice garden (even someone's backyard) where you can set up a long table with chairs all around it. You could play games like a treasure hunt for the rabbit. Or pin the tail on the cat. I don't know if that's what you were thinking but it sounds like a fun party to me!

why dont you go for a night out - like go to a movie or ice skating - if your parents drive they can bring you & pick you up! if they do not wish to do this, then you could have a themed party - a hollywood one, decorate your garage or house (ask mom & dad - duh) & invite all the cool kids & your friends - dressup in glitzy clothes & act like your favourite character. If your parents dont mind spending the money - bring you & your best mates to disneyworld, sixflags, etc... & on your actual birthday - go to a real soppy movie with your mum or a horror with your bf! just have fun!

How about a mall scavenger hunt? You could team everybody up into two big groups or smaller groups of two or three and send them out to get things on a list that you prepare. Google "Mall Scavenger Hunt" and you'll find a ton of lists of things you can look for. It will give you ideas about your own mall and the types of stores you have and then you can create your own list. And since you're at the age where goodie bags aren't really necessary, you might want to do something as a prize for each team. Make the prize inexpensive but match your theme if you end up having one. (not necessary for this party anyway)Keep in mind that the scavenger hunt will separate the group for a while so you also want to have a starting and ending time and then plan something that brings you all back together. You could then gather at the arcade for some game time or eat in the food court or pizza place. Maybe even see a movie. Or, if you have a park nearby, you could make up your own scavenger hunt with things in the neighborhood and then hang out together at your house for food and music.Keep in mind, at your age, some of the mom's will want to tag along if you do the mall thing so plan on sending out the invitations early so they can plan in advance and compare notes if necessary. They may want to see who can stick around the party if you don't have enough chaperone's you can guarantee will be there.

Have your parents reserve a room/area at a nice restaurant and have dinner or lunch or even brunch. It's not an over the top party but still a good time, good food, friends and gifts.

Hi:Have the party at your place.Pick a theme to decorate like: The Roaring 20's, Rock n Roll, Hawaiian, Italian or classical.Have each of your friends dress with one item that belonged to that era. Music and rent a movie.Have pizza or makeup a cheese&cracker platter, cold cuts & bread, munchies, dessert and punch for drinks.A game would be to pick someone that is dressed the best for your theme and buy a little prize for the winner.I'm sure it will be fun.Lots of music

Hey, I just had my 17th in June (winter here in Australia). This is what we got up to:What my friends & I did last holidays at a sleepover was all create hypothetical scenarios on some cards. Then we put them all together, mixed them around a bit, and then pulled one out, read it out and all discussed it.eg: 'be rich and not be married or be poor and have a family?'*going around the circle*person one: defiantly be rich, I have always wanted to live in a lavish house...person two: no no! defiantly be poor, at least I will have a familyThis was so much fun, because as we went around the circle, we were suprised to see how much we all learnt from each other that we didn't know!ORPerhaps a picnic? This is relatively inexpensive, bring along a picnic basket, some home made cupcakes etc and you can all gossip and have fun at a park.Or, clear out your garage, get out your stereo , ask your friends to bring along their favourite CD's. Like the picnic, your only paying for food= cheap.House parties are the best parties, perhaps make it themed, if your girly, make the theme 'you all have to wear pink' or something like that. Or perhaps in your case, if you are a tomboy, make it "dress in your favourite sport clothes". We had a donut eating competition, dance off (two teams- it sounds lame but everyone was laughing so hard at some of the moves we came up with!) and balloon voleyball. For my friends last party, the theme was "dress as something that shares the first letter of your name".For example, my names lily and I went as a lion haha.Hope it all goes well for you!

well whats really 'in' right now are ninjas and pirates and star wars and bubble wrap. u could somehow come up with a way to put all those into your party? and if u dont like hannah montana/miley you could get a huge pinata of her and let ur friends beat her to death for fun. have like a bubble wrap area with just bubble wrap for people to pop and roll around on and watnot. u could have like ninja vs pirates vs star wars battles?
by Ricky 2012-02-19 23:38:39
I don't suggest going to your own house because it won't fit as many people. Go to a park or somewhere big outside where you can set up a huge party, so all you really need is food and entertainment that costs money. It will be bomb diggity! =]Hope this helps!

This is an extreme, but my neighbour has a 15-year-old and she rented one of those huge inflatable movie screens for her daughter and friends for the backyard. They had tents and sleeping bags. It was really cute & different! Cost could be a big factor, but you could do some research and see if it's something you can afford. ♥

I assume your house is big enough for 30 extra ppl but I don't know any other details to go on - but - you can : 1. Get a buddy to D. J. A variety of new music 2. Get decorations from $ stores for your theme 3. Snacks / drinks will be cheaper there also ! 4. Get a big scrap book for ppl to sign in / comment 5. Ask ppl to bring cameras / CDs / take videos etc. 6. If you have games like Wii / DS - PPL can play 7. Board games are making a come back - get some 8. Planning / Theme / Time frame / Space / $$$ limit 9. Parental rules / type of guest / plenty of food & drinks 10. PPL can do different activities - just make it all fun !
