I remember getting a chrisco hamper when I was younger with my family and a lot of young friends of mine who have families have done the same thing this year. They're reasonably good value and it's great because you can just about avoid going to shops (except for fresh items like milk, bread, vegetables & fruit), you can even buy meat hampers and they come all frozen - so you need to make sure you have a lot of available freezer room! You can pick and choose hampers to suit your taste and your family size and it's a bonus because there are usually things you haven't tried before.I think the best thing about the chrisco hampers is that you pay it off on a weekly or fortnightly basis during the year. This means you don't have to worry about using a large chunk of money right before christmas to do all of your food shopping!!They also have gift ideas, so you can even start paying off christmas presents!I don't entertain family on christmas (we go to other family members houses), but if I did, I would definately make the effort to order chrisco, I think it's a really great and money saving idea.
