One cup is 8 ounces (oz). So, fill up a measuring cup once, dump it into the mix, fill it up almost to the halfway mark, dump it again... Could go ahead and just do 1.5 cups and 12 ounces of chocolate! :)

It's two cups. When in doubt, just add more. More is better, yes?

I'm sure by now the cookies are history. Consider this for the future: Almost all packaged food manufacturers have an 800 telephone number listed on the package. You shouldn't be afraid to use it. They are there to help you and as a consequence field all sorts of comments and questions every day. An alternative would be their website. I would bet that your question has a ready answer from all of the chocolate chip manufacturers. FYI: Most of the folks who invite those questions and comments will send you coupons, free or major cents off, just for taking the time to call them.

A regular bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips has a net weight of 12 ounces and is 2 cups. But I think some of the other "flavors" of chips might be 11 ounces (net weight) yet still 2 cups volume.I would guess that your recipe is calling for 2 cups - one normal sized bag in the US.

Just shy of 1 1/2 cups! :)
