I want to write a persuasive essay about removing gelatin from numerous food items, especially candy. Audience?

Who should the audience of my essay be? I was debating between the unaware average person or an actual candy company who needs to be convinced to use gelatin substitutes so a larger group of people can eat their products. Any other suggestions of gelatin in a persuasive essay would help, too. Thanks!

The company if you can. It would make for a better essay. The religious argument is a stronger point. Talking about jews/muslims not being able to eat pork geletine or other religions who don't eat one or all meats.

I would target the companies. You could talk about the sick vegetarians in hospitals who can't eat jello and don't forget to include marshmallows. It's always such a pain to have to pass on the rice krispy treats and smores when I'm camping. I agree with the other person who answered in talking about profilt. Raising stockholder earnings are going to be most important. Perhaps you could interview vegetarians. You could give them a list of products that currently have gelatin and then have them check off the ones they would buy and use if they were gelatin free. Then you could do the math on each product to come up with additonal income that would be earned by vegetarian customers and present this to the companies of the products. You could have vegetarians sign something too.

I think if you persuade the unaware average person then there will be a greater demand for gelatin to be removed from these products so the candy company will be forced to remove it to keep their customer happy.I think you should obviously mention what gelatin is (hooves and bones etc) because to most people that sounds disgusting and a lot of people are unaware of what it is.Good luck... sounds like a good essay! :-)

Most countries in Asia use agar (a type of seaweed) instead of gelatin. I'd suggest a candy company as the target audience. The candy company is probably more concerned about keeping customers and expanding business.

The unaware average person wouldn't be able to do much about removing gelatin from such food items. The candy company has much more control over this, but you'll have to use good arguments to convince them. Hint: Mention money, that's ultimately the only thing that businesses ever care about.
