http://www.cacaoweb.net/easy-chocolate-cake.htmlI followed that recipe except for the eggs. It tastes fine, but the cake did not rise at all. Is there a way to make my cake rise with out adding eggs and with out altering the taste?

did you need the cake to rise (since you said it tasted fine)? i have tasted the best cake that really doesn't rise either (devils food cake mix with canned pumpkin....DELICIOUS)

The only rising agents I'm aware of that would raise your cake are baking powder, baking soda, or yeast and all would change the taste. You could substitute carbonated water for regular water or milk in the recipe but you need to work quickly before the carbonated part dissipates. I know the carbonated drink works nicely in pancakes.I just remembered there is a product out there that Vegans use in place of eggs. It's called Egg-Replacer by Ener-G.Hope that helps.

You can make eggless cakes but they need another raising agent.

the protein in eggs is what creates the structure of the cake without structure something can not stand up you are saying you built a building without a frame and wonder why it didn't stay up?
