I've heard dark chocolate is good also. Plus it has dairy in it, which your body needs! But how great do you feel after eating an oreo or a brownie or a hershey bar? mm mmm mmmm....I think I would have pulled my hair out or had a heart attack by now if not for chocolate..so I think there are benefits that researchers can't tell you about.

While chocolate is regularly eaten for pleasure, there are potential beneficial health effects of eating chocolate. Cocoa or dark chocolate benefits the circulatory system. Other beneficial effects suggested include anticancer, brain stimulator, cough preventor and antidiarrhoeal effects. An aphrodisiac effect is yet unproven. On the other hand, the unconstrained consumption of large quantities of any energy-rich food such as chocolate is thought to increase the risk of obesity without a corresponding increase in activity. Raw chocolate is high in cocoa butter, a fat which is removed during chocolate refining, then added back in in varying proportions during the manufacturing process. Manufacturers may add other fats, sugars, and milk as well, all of which increase the caloric content of chocolate. There is concern of mild lead poisoning for some types of chocolate. Chocolate is toxic to many animals because of insufficient capacity to metabolize theobromine.A study reported by the BBC indicated that melting chocolate in one's mouth produced an increase in brain activity and heart rate that was more intense than that associated with passionate kissing, and also lasted four times as long after the activity had ended.

In moderation Chocolate gives some folks a feel good feeling or in other words gives out those feelings of happiness relaxation and peace. like most comfort foods i would think that when your brain signals you are happy from what ever you are ingesting at the time, that would be a good thing (smile).

Generally, chocolates can boost your energy, but not by much though. Dark chocolates are good for the body. The benefits come from flavanoids which act like antioxidants to help prevent heart disease, relax blood pressure, and balance some hormones.

The dark chocolate (65% cocoa or higher) has anti-oxidants in it. So some is good for us. In moderation.

If not digested to excess, it is said to stimulate impulses in the brain responsible for learning. So in moderation, chocolate is good for you :D
