ok the other day a friend of mine gave me an invite to his gfs sweet 16 birthday party. its pretty sick, shes hired a massive boat and everything. the only problem is i don't know her or most the people going (about 150). i mean i know probably about 20ish and those 20 all know the others. This is kinda because im pretty new (moved here just over 6 months ago).so should i go - it might be pretty awkward and all the people i know will leave me and all try to hit on the chicks...but on the other hand it will be an insane party with a load of chicks and alcoholSuggestions people?got about a month to decide...

Why don't you go and enjoy yourself? Of course you don't expect to be entertained by everyone. Just give your friend a present, greet her then leave early if you don't get along with the crowd. Give yourself a break, ok!

I would say go! You need to put yourself out there! Since you have a month to decide try hanging out with the people you do know that are going a little more.. Maybe along the way you'll meet more people... You should try and socialize. It's hard, i know. I've moved before as well so I know how it is when you try and put yourself out there. If you go try to look at the positive.. Imagine how many people you will get to know after the party.. try not to think about others leaving you =)

Sure, go, be outgoing and meet a ton of people, by the end of the party make it your goal to have made friends with 20 new people. The worst that happens is that you're bored. The best that happens is you have a blast.
