Hey Guys,Just finished watchinghttp://freedocumentaries.net/media/230/E…WARNING: CONTAINS GOREY STUFF.Thought about becoming an Vegan or Octo-Vegan a little bit in the past, but watching this made me think about it more... my only concern is my level of strength and size, libido I don't really care much about since I'm a "brain" anyways. It's obvious it would drop, but so would my Testosterone levels? and I really love my spatial abilities which come from it and also my competitive nature.Has you always been a veggie? or was you first a carnivore? How has it affected you? Both physically, emotionally and ofc mentally? How does it affect your interactions with males and females?and finally What kind of male female groups does this group attract?I like my health, but I also like being strong! Thanks guys.

I quit eating meat 25 years ago when I was about 27. I never noticed any change in my libido. I never noticed any change in my strength either. What the hell is an Octo-Vegan?

My ex boyfriend was a vegetarian and a bodybuilder. In fact, there are many vegan bodybuilders and triathletes, not to mention basketball and other sports players. don't believe the hype. Would anyone call an elephant weak?

Hi,I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are plenty of big strong men who are vegetarians and vegans, and anybody who tells you otherwise is ignorant of this fact (a quick search should bring up hundreds of names!)I myself, though not freakishly big or strong, am fairly built and quite strong. I am a solid 190lbs, can parallel squat 130% bodyweight for 20 reps, and press 80kgs a few times. I am far stronger than I was before I became a vegetarian 2 years ago (note: I am not implying causality here, just that it doesn't appear to have hindered me).

Author Rynn Berry, a vegetarian and animal right advocate, maintains that although Hitler reduced the amount of meat in his diet, he never stopped eating meat completely for any significant length of time. Berry argues that many historians use the term 'vegetarian' incorrectly to describe someone who simply reduced their meat consumption.

REAL men don't go VEGGIE!!! You look at most men and see they are not veggie or vegan, most of the worlds wackos (I.E. Hitler, Mussolini, [to please Hitler]) are veggies. look it up. greens put mold on the brain.

1. Your test levels do NOT drop. A man's testosterone levels will fluctuate throughout his lifetime, but as long as he's eating a balanced diet, diet isn't to blame. Anything you've heard about OMG SOY REDUCES TEST LEVELS is completely untrue. In fact, many, many, many studies show that soy has ZERO affect on test levels. This was even published in Muscular Development magazine (with the many medical journal sources to back it up) to encourage lifters to consume soy protein to fit in the 2-4 hour digestion window (email me if you want to know more about this). The reason people claim soy reduces your testosterone levels is because 2. Brain size and mental ability are two different things. Your brain may shrink due to less fats or even being very dehydrated...that doesn't mean you became stupid. Yes, the brain retains fat, and the typical non-meat-eater consumes less fat, which means there's less for the brain to retain and that lowers the brain's weight and size...but it wasn't good, legit brain matter, it was just F-A-T. After all, women's brains tend to be smaller than men, but studies show that women can outperform, or just be equal to, men in almost all mental capacities. This is a generalization, of course...many factors must be taken into consideration.3. Your size will not drop. If you really gave a sh*t about your size/strength, you'd have done a lot of research on what you eat and how you exercise, and you'd already know that size and strength come from exercising a certain way and eating enough calories with a good protein-carb-fat ratio. That's it. It doesn't say you have to eat beef, egg, or dairy. In fact, there ARE vegan bodybuilders, and many, many vegetarian athletes. Ricky Williams of the Miami Dolphins is a vegetarian, Tony Gonzales of the Kansas City Chiefs eats a mostly vegan diet, and Mac Danzig is a vegan Mixed Martial Arts fighter. There are many more, I just know those off the top of my head. Vegetarians and vegans are long distance runners, rowers, swimmers, lifters, you name it. Check out the Profiles link on veganbodybuilding.comMuscular Development magazine also published two interesting articles back to back. One was about how fruits and vegetables help the body maximize its nitric oxide production (that's all any pre-workout drink does), and that an alkaline system reduces muscle wasting. As many vegans know, vegan bodies are more alkaline than vegetarian bodies, which are more alkaline than omnivorous bodies (which are acidic). Because muscle wasting occurs in an acidic environment and omnivores have acidic blood, it's harder to retain strength as an omnivore. I know this first-hand. As a vegan, I am able to retain my muscle mass (both size and strength) than as an omnivore. I still eat a lot, still take my protein shakes, still take my creatine, and lift the same way; the only thing that changed was my diet, so that's the factor here. 4. Your libido will not drop, and you SHOULD care about your libido. You might end up with a gal like me who's smart and wants an intelligent nerd as a boyfriend...but my sex drive is through the roof. Yes, despite being female AND vegan, my sex drive is higher than my boyfriend's. There's no reason you can't be brains, brawn, and sex drive, my friend. Why limit yourself to just one when you can have it all? Anyway, if you want me to elaborate on any of this, feel free to email me.

Actually, your size/strength/stamina/libido would not drop under a vegan or vegetarian diet, unless you were consuming less calories & nutrients than your body requires (Base metabolic rate + exertion calories burned). Consume more calories (especially from nutrient-rich foods) and you will continue to gain in a good way. Consume less, and you will lose weight. Google "vegan body building", and you'll get some great information. On to your questions. Have you always been a veggie? No. I was raised in the midwest, and went vegetarian when I was 10, and vegan one year later. 13 years on a veggie diet now. :)How has it affected you?Physically - my body is at a near-constant weight (the most I fluctuate is 2-3 pounds), which is perfect for my body/frame (I am 98-100lbs, 5'3", with muscle tone, boobs, and a bum). I maintain muscle tone (even though my exercise regime is little more than yoga, walks/hikes, and horseback riding).Emotionally - I feel better all-around when I eat well. Emotional health, though, comes from more than just food. Mentally - well, I was high school valedictorian and a 4.0gpa equine science major in college. I'm also a member of MENSA. (haha! My fiancee and I were curious just where we would rank, so we went to the local college and had an official test done and sent it in) :) So I'm pretty sure that lack of eggs and fish hasn't affected my brain in any negative way. ;)How does it affect your interactions with males and females? Honestly, most people couldn't care less. Some will ask "why vegan", and some will leave it after asking "do you want a bite of steak?" and I just say "no thank you". Some people can be judgmental, but the majority of people I have spoken with don't find it that big of a deal. What kind of male/female groups does this attract? Incredibly different and far-reaching ones. There are those who are vegan for religious purposes, the animal-rights groups, the animal welfare groups, the "hippies", the reformed farmers, the health nuts, and yes, the average, everyday person who sees the benefits, ignores the stereotypes, and changes the public perception of the lifestyle.
