For a starter you could bake individual potato top fish pies made in ramekins.I would follow the meal with a Kiwifruit Cheese Cake.

BBQ smothered chicken can be a very intense flavor. I think I'd start with something like deviled eggs, cornbread bites or a cold salad (bacon & ranch pasta salad maybe?). For desert I'd definitely go with fresh fruit of some sort. Serve it with pound cake and/or whipped topping or if the season is right in your area split a harder shelled fruit (like a sugar baby watermelon) and make it into bowls for a fruit salad.

With my BBQ chicken, I am making home made coleslaw, baked beans, mashed potatoes, fruit cocktail raspberry Jello with marshmallows, and I do have ice cream for dessert. I have several cake and brownie mixes in the house, if I later decide to have cake with my ice cream. I might recommend an ice cream cake, so easy, just layer crushed Oreo cookies and premium vanilla ice cream. Soften the ice cream, and freeze the cake inbetween layers. So good, so rich, drizzle a bit of Hershey's on it when serving. Two oval cartons of Blue Bunny ice cream and a package of Oreos make a 13x9 pan, and don't forget to line the pan with foil, to remove it for cutting easily. Mom's Coleslaw from allrecipies.com1 small head cabbage, shredded3 medium carrots, shredded1 cup mayonnaise 1/3 cup sugar1/4 cup cider vinegar Directions for Mom's coleslaw:1. In a large bowl, combine cabbage and carrots. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar. Pour over cabbage mixture and toss to coat. Serve with a slotted spoon I read all the recipes in allrecipes.com looking for my Mom's recipe. Funny, there it was, called Mom's Coleslaw. It is a sign, I know it is, LOL, Rivers does not believe in signs. . Though Mom held back on the vinegar a bit, because she knew my tummy could not take a lot of it. Might even put pineapple in it. We will see. And there was another recipe that was loaded with sugar, called Grandma's Coleslaw. I copied it off, but it looks too sweet, even for me. And I will be using Miracle Whip.

Spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips and for dessert what else? Bannana Pudding.

for a starter, some roasted potato skins with sour cream, cheddar cheese and chives are good. Corn muffins with the inside slightly hollowed out and stuffed with warm creamed corn.Serve oven roasted fries and corn on the cob with the bbq.Dessert...well, I personally like to have a fruit type and a chocolate type, I jut make the desserts smaller. Strawberry Shortcake is always a hit,a nd then just make/buy a chocolate pudding cake and serve both with vanilla ice cream.

If you head to M&S before tuesday, you can pick up their dine in for 10 pounds. BBQ chicken is part of it so you can then pick one of the sides on option, plus one of the desserts, and a wine. sorted.

For a starter how about a simple cole slaw or a tomato salad? For dessert, you can't beat a good apple or peach pie/cobbler with ice cream.
