You can try buying Med grain rice, I have had good luck with that. I use it when I make Japenese Curry.

It's referred to as sweet rice or 'sticky rice'. It cooks up differently than regular white rice. You can get it in the Asian section at most major grocers or in a specialty market. Costs a little more than regular old white rice but results are well worth it. Also a difference, many Asian cooks steam the rice rather than boiling it and that makes it come out different, too.

If u want make sticky rice, buy cal rose rice, it come out sticky no matter how u cook it. Other rice by adding lots water, this is done by practice. Many restaurant buy cheap rice since they use for fried rice, only cheap people goes eat that shiit.

I believe its just normal rice but they cook it differently. The Western way is to boil rice in water, Chinese steam cook the rice which makes it sticky. You should buy a rice cooker if you want rice often because it cooks rice perfectly. edit: You don't need to spend $400 on one, you can buy one that works fine for $20.

its regualr white rice. Go to any asian market, they have 'em. just make sure you buy a rice pot; the good kinds they sell for a lot of money (about $400).

Most I've seen is just steamed long grain rice - the cheapest stuff you can get at the grocery store. Some have Jasmine rice, but that's an aroma thing more than texture. Basmati would be more Indian, and sushi rice would be more Japanese. I'm going to second the idea of getting a rice cooker. Asian market will have them cheap, and it's a small price to pay for perfect rice every time.

I believe it's Calrose rice, which is more of a short or medium grain white rice. But if you're making fried rice, you can probably use any rice, including brown rice, just make sure it's dead cold when you put it in the pan, as in just came out of the fridge. Good luck!
