Why is it that most of frozen dumplings that you cook in the microwave taste rubbery? Way to avoid this?

Last week I bought Takoyaki(octopus balls with batter surrounding it) and it tasted super rubbery. Especially the texture. Today I thought I would try again with these Kimchi dumplings I bought. It says to put them in the microwave for 4 minutes which I did, but still same problem. What am I doing wrong? The inside is cooked, but the outside always comes out messed up. Does this happen to anyone else?

Microwaving bread makes it rubbery. It has something to do with the microwave killing all the moisture. You can microwave bready things for a few seconds, but four minutes will definitely make them disgusting. Just stick your food in the oven.

Add a little water. It helps to rehydrate them and steam them back up. :)
